A thoughtful gift for anyone working in the oil industry. A rare 1962 Canadian Oil and Gas Map, published in 1962, prepared by McDaniel Well Maps, Calgary, Alberta. Lithographed in Canada by Western Printing & Lithographing C. Ltd., Calgary, Alberta.
This beautiful map has delightful graphics in red and green, indicating the locations of Canada's principal gas fields (in the red flame) and Canada's principal oil fields (in the green oil drop).
It came with a typewritten note from the Royal Bank of Canada, Oil and Gas Department in Calgary, Alberta, stating "This is the new printing of our Oil and Gas Map. Many branches display it to good advantage. If you need more copies for clients or display in your office or public buildings, please request by mail."
The map legend shows the oil fields and pipelines, potential oil area, proposed oil, pipeline, gas fields and pipelines, products pipeline, natural gas processing plant, and potential gas area. How different it looks from present day findings.
White stain running vertically starting at top right, only in the "Eastern Canada" inset. See photos for condition. Otherwise IN GOOD CONDITION. There are no holes at corners; the map had never been displayed and came with the Royal Bank note attached to the map with a paper clip. The Royal Bank typewritten note is included with the listing.
The full print is shown in the first photo. Other photos show details from the print. Last photo shows reverse side of map. Size: approx. 26.75 inches x 41.75 inches (68 cm x 106 cm) Any small unobtrusive tears on folds have been repaired with archival mending tissue.
Sent to you rolled in a tube. This is an original, not a copy! Bananastrudel sells only originals.
