Large Antique Technical Drawing - Pumps and Connections - St. Thomas Waterworks, Exeter - 1869 Rare Poster-Sized Engineering Drawing
A large (31.5" x 22.5") antique technical drawing of "Pumps and Connections for Pumping Engines, St. Thomas Water Works, Exeter". Published as a supplement to 'The Engineer', dated August 6, 1869 (top left of drawing).
This rare drawing from The Engineer, one of the world's oldest professional journals, would make a unique present for anyone engaged or interested in engineering.
The full print is shown in the last photo. Other photos show details from the print.
Printed on thin paper. Small tears along edges or folds have been repaired with archival mending tissue. There may be some chips along the margins (at the bottom right border, for example), not affecting the image. Otherwise in very good condition.
It is quite rare for a technical drawing of this size from the 1800s to have survived, and in such condition, too. Blank en verso. The colour of the paper is hard to capture due to the thinness of the paper, and the photos are an approximation of the actual color.
